A man’s been arrested by firearms officers after an assault inside a bungalow last week.

Police and ambulance were called to the property in Park North in Swindon at around 4.15pm on Friday 11 May, following reports of an incident within an address.

Armed with submachine guns, the specialist officers positioned themselves outside the Dulverton Avenue home for around 45 minutes before the volatile situation was resolved.

The road was closed for around an hour while police dealt with the incident.

A local local man, 24, was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and possession of a Class B drug. Police say he has since been released under investigation.

The victim, a man in his 40s, suffered minor injuries to his legs and hands.
