An ex-Chippenham police officer has been charged with stalking and misconduct in public office, it has been confirmed today (Tuesday).
Andrew Edwards was suspended by Wiltshire Police after the force became aware of the investigation into his alleged offending.
The 32-year-old, from Chippenham, is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 7 August.
He faces charges of stalking involving fear of violence or serious alarm or distress and misconduct in public office.
The former Chippenham response officer resigned on 6 May, during the criminal investigation.
Wiltshire Police said it couldn’t comment further due to the active proceedings.
