Work to upgrade a pedestrian crossing in Corsham will begin on Monday (19th May), with disruption expected for around three weeks.
The project will focus on the crossing located on Newlands Road, just south of the entrance to The Co-op supermarket.
To carry out the improvements safely, multi-way temporary traffic signals will be installed, which are likely to cause delays for drivers and pedestrians in the area.
Wiltshire Council said: “Just a reminder that from Monday 19 May, we will be upgrading the existing pedestrian crossing on Newlands Road, Corsham, south of the entrance into the Co-op.
“The works will take approximately three weeks to complete and during this time there will be multi-way temporary traffic signals in place.
“We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we carry out these important improvements.”
The council has not specified the nature of the upgrade but it’s understood that the work is necessary to improve pedestrian safety.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys while the traffic management measures are in place.
