A boy has been struck in the head with a hammer during a violent robbery in Swindon this afternoon (Monday).
The 13-year-old was attacked on Charlton Close, Penhill, shortly before 1.30pm.
He was taken to hospital with a head injury after being assaulted by a man – who then stole his bicycle.
Wiltshire Police said the suspect is a white man in his 40s, with a ginger beard and wearing a black puffer jacket.
He was accompanied by a younger man in his 20s, described as having blonde hair and wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and have released a photo of the stolen bike – a black Carrera with red handlebars and red pedals.
