Biker sustains life-changing injuries in crash with Royal Mail lorry

A biker has sustained life-changing injuries in a crash with a Royal Mail lorry.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A361 north of Highworth at around 12.30pm this afternoon (Monday).

The serious incident involved a motorcycle and a DAF XB lorry near Crouch Farm.

The biker, a man aged in his 30s, sustained significant injuries and was treated by critical care medics from Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, alongside local ambulance crews and police.

The casualty was airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. His next of kin have been informed.

A full-scale forensic collision investigation is underway at the scene. The road is expected to remain closed until Tuesday morning (18 March).
