A child has been injured in an incident at a Swindon school – sparking a partial lockdown.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene at Lydiard Park Academy, in Grange Park, at around midday today (Friday).
Ambulance crews also attended, as a pupil received treatment for injuries sustained in a fall on the school field during break time.
“There has been a medical incident on site involving a single pupil near the field during break time as a result of a fall”, a spokesperson for Lydiard Park Academy said.
They added: “As a precaution, we are implementing a partial lockdown during the lunch period—all pupils will remain indoors for their safety.
“The air ambulance is currently in attendance, and our team is ensuring the situation is managed with care and urgency.”
The school later confirmed that the child has been transported to hospital by land ambulance for further assessment, and the helicopter has left the scene.
Lydiard Park Academy remains open and is operating as usual.
