Blunsdon to Highworth road closed both directions following crash

A419 closed both directions in Swindon after serious road traffic collision

The road between Blunsdon to Highworth has been closed by Wiltshire Police.

Officers have shut the B4019 following what is believed to be a road traffic collision at around 5pm this afternoon (30 September).

The main route is closed in both directions between The Freke Arms and The Cold Habour.

The extent of the incident is not yet known, but the road could be closed for several hours.

One local labelled the incident as a “bad crash”, but no further details are available at this early stage.

UPDATE: The road was reopened around two hours later.
