Police have made an arrest after a man was seriously assaulted at a vehicle recovery depot in Highworth this morning (Thursday).
Emergency services, including firearms officers, raced to reports of an incident unfolding on Blackworth Industrial Estate at around 10.30am.
It’s understood a disorder broke out at Cotswold Vehicle Recovery, with a worker – a man aged in his 60s – sustaining serious injuries.

According to a worker, he was struck with a metal bar and required urgent treatment from ambulance crews and Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance critical care medics.
He was subsequently airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol. His next of kin is aware.

Wiltshire Police say a 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon and criminal damage.
Detectives are leading the investigation, with the road outside Cotswold Vehicle Recovery cordoned off as a crime scene. Forensic investigation work is ongoing.
The firm holds a Wiltshire Police contract, recovering vehicles for the force – which are then stored at their secure depot.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for witnesses, or anyone who may have dash cam footage, to contact A/DS Dean on [email protected] quoting log 54250117824.”
“You can also leave information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
