A motorcyclist has sustained significant injuries in a crash in a village near Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to the serious two-vehicle road traffic collision on the B4069 in Sutton Benger this morning (Tuesday).
The incident involved a moped-style motorcycle and a car and happened shortly before 11am.
The rider of the motorcycle, a man aged in his 60s, was treated by local ambulance crews and critical care medics from Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.
He was then flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, and had potentially life-changing injuries.
A forensic collision investigation was launched and specialist officer remain working at the scene this evening.
The road is likely to remain shut until the early hours of tomorrow (Wednesday 20 August).
