Two air ambulances have touched down for a serious crash on the A303 in Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in the village of Winterbourne Stoke at around midday today (Sunday).
Dorset and Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance landed at the scene, with at least one casualty believed to have sustained serious injuries.
Wiltshire 999s understands that the incident involved a two cars, which collided head-on. One of the vehicles subsequently caught fire.
Further details about the crash have not been released by Wiltshire Police at this early stage.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Please be aware that the A303 just west of Winterbourne Stoke is closed in both directions following a serious collision.
“Closures are in place between the junction with the A36 and Longbarrow Roundabout. A closure is also in place on the B3083 Berwick Road.
“The road is likely to remain closed for several hours. Please find alternate routes.”
