A Trowbridge man has been charged after a female was seriously injured in an attack.
38-year-old Rueben Cooper faces an allegation of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent during an incident on 13 June.
The defendant has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (Tuesday).
An offence of GBH with intent carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, and can only be dealt with at the crown court.
The suspect, of Newtown, Trowbridge, will either be remanded into prison or released on bail until a plea and trial preparation hearing at the higher court.
Further details about the victim’s injuries, or her age, have not been confirmed as yet.
