Firefighters have extinguished a serious car fire in Swindon this morning.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service responded to reports of a blaze at around 8.20am this morning, discovering a £25,000 Ford Kuga burning in an alleyway near to St Mark’s Park.

The car, parked behind Florence Street, was completely destroyed in the fire.

Part of a garden fence, belonging to a nearby house, was also damaged.

A fire service spokesperson said: “The crew used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire which, unfortunately, completely destroyed the car.”

Police officers also attended the incident, with two units remaining on scene two hours later.

We’ve approached Wiltshire Police for comment.
