A man has suffered life-threatening injuries after an aircraft crashed in Wiltshire.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Milston, near Durrington, shortly before 7pm on Sunday evening (25 May).
It’s understood a light aircraft – believed to be a glider – crashed into a field off Miston Drove.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed at the incident, as a plethora of other 999 crews also raced to the scene.
A 71-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre at Southampton General Hospital.
“An investigation will be carried out into what happened by the Air Accident Investigation Team”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
