UPDATE: Motorcyclist killed in crash on A350 as police launch probe

Emergency services are currently dealing with a crash on the A350 in Melksham.

999 crews were called to a road traffic collision outside the BP garage in Beanacre Road at around midday today (Thursday).

Paramedics appear to be treating a person on the ground – with an ambulance and operations officer in attendance. The condition of those involved is unknown at this stage.

Further details are unclear, but the incident is causing significant delays for motorists.

Congestion is stretching back as far as Lacock and Farmers Roundabout.

Bus services are also being impacted by the crash. Faresaver said: “Due to an accident we are currently unable to serve Beanacre or Lacock until further notice.”

In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware of a full road closure in place on the A350 at Beanacre, north of Melksham – due to a road traffic collision.

“Closures are in place at [Farmers] Roundabout on the A350 and the Lacock junction.

“Please seek alternative routes and expect delays in the area.”
