A man who deliberately drove his car into pedestrians in Salisbury has pleaded guilty.
Braden Lynam was arrested when he ploughed a blue Ford Focus into a man and woman outside Caboose bar in South Western Road on 27 March.
The woman had intervened in an altercation between the defendant and a man, aged in his 40s, moments before the serious collision.
22-year-old Lynam left the man with life-changing injuries, while the woman sustained serious but not life-changing wounds.
He “drove at high speed toward the pair in an act of retaliation”, Wiltshire Police said.
The defendant then fled the scene, dumping his vehicle by some garages around one mile away – where it was forensically examined and recovered.
He successfully evaded police for several days, but was arrested on 31 March and remanded in custody.
At Winchester Crown Court today (Wednesday), Lynam pleaded guilty to pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, actual bodily harm and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
The defendant, of Woodborough Close in Trowbridge, has been remanded in custody to be sentenced on 4 July.
