A Swindon man has died in a single-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle.
Emergency services were called to the A417 Brockworth Bypass in Gloucestershire at around 5.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 April).
A black Honda CBR motorbike was the only vehicle involved in a road traffic collision.
The rider, a 31-year-old man from Swindon, suffered significant injuries.
999 crews, included Midlands Air Ambulance, attended the scene and provided urgent care.
The casualty was flown to the Major Trauma Centre at Southmead Hospital in Bristol – where he later died. His next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
Police closed the road between the M5 and Birdlip Roundabout in both directions for 12 hours for forensic collision investigation work.
“Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the black coloured Honda CBR bike in the lead up to the collision to come forward”, a spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said.
“They would also like to speak to anybody who was travelling along the road in either direction around the time of the incident and who may have dashcam footage.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police is asked to submit information by completing the following online form and quoting incident 382 of 29 April.”
