A baby boy who was injured in a crash in Wiltshire has tragically died in hospital.

16-month-old Teddy had been seriously hurt in a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the A303 just east of Amesbury on Friday 28 March.

Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance and Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance attended the incident.

Following the horror smash, Wiltshire Police confirmed that a grey Skoda Karoq has joined the A303 eastbound at the Amesbury Road junction and has collided with a white Peugeot 208 travelling in the same direction.

The force said that this has caused the Peugeot to spin onto the westbound carriageway through the gap in the barriers for the Allington Track, colliding head on with a silver Volvo V70 travelling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Peugeot, a woman in her 20s from Andover, suffered serious injuries, while her son Teddy – a passenger in the Peugeot – suffered life-threatening injuries.

In a public update on social media, Teddy’s mother Holly Britten confirmed his death.

She wrote: “It’s with a truly broken heart that I say this but our gorgeous boy gained his wings today.

“He was truly the sweetest most loving little character that we were blessed to have. Our hearts are shattered into pieces.

“Teddy Jason this isn’t a goodbye just a see you later.”

In a further post on a community group – where locals had been raising money for the family via a GoFundMe – Holly said: “As many saw the last post about my gorgeous boy I thought it was only right to keep you updated.

“My darling boy gained his wings and is now at peace. We will obviously use the go fund me to give him the best possible send off possible.

“Thank you to everyone that reached out to me from the last post wishing us well. Your love wasn’t and isn’t unnoticed. Teddy you will be missed my darling.”
