A major route in Swindon is blocked following a two-vehicle crash.

Emergency services were called to Mead Way, at the crossroads with Stonehill Green, at around 10.30am this morning (Friday).

Two cars – including a green Ford Fiesta – were involved in the smash near Westlea Fire Station.

One person is believed to be medically trapped, with two fire crews working to free the casualty.

The road is blocked in the direction of Whitehill Way at the junction for Stonehill Green, with motorists diverted into Westlea.

The road remains open in the direction of Bridgemead.
