Two children have been threatened with death by sword-wielding teenagers in Swindon.

The group of suspects – described as being aged around 16-years-old and wearing dark-coloured tracksuits with their hoods up – left the victims shaken after the serious incident on Tuesday.

It happened at around 10pm, near to the Walcot Dome community centre off Frobrisher Drive.

The victims, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl managed to run from the scene and hide in nearby bushes until the youths who were riding bicycles left the area.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We received a report that two teenagers, aged 14 and 15, were threatened by a group of males near Walcot Dome on Tuesday at approximately 10pm.

“The group made threats to the pair and are believed to have been carrying a sword. Nobody was injured. Two of the suspects are described as white males, approximately 16 years of age, and 6ft tall on adult mountain bikes. They were wearing dark clothing with their hoods up.”

Anyone with information relating to this incident should contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
