The bosses of a Chippenham nightclub are ‘heartbroken’ after Storm Bert flooding.

Club E11evn on The Bridge suffered damage as a result of the River Avon bursting its banks.

Part of Chippenham town centre was underway for most of Monday (26 November).

In a statement, the management wrote: “Unfortunately, the club took a battering yesterday due to the floods in Chippenham town centre, and as a result, it is temporarily unusable.

“It breaks our hearts to announce that we will not be open this weekend. However, we are committed to reopening as soon as possible in some capacity.

“We genuinely appreciate all the kind messages of support and offers to help with the cleanup. Your generosity means the world to us as we work to pick up the pieces and rebuild.

“We are grateful to hear that no one was injured and there was no loss of life in Chippenham. Nobody expected the water to rise that fast and that high.

“This is not the end… we will continue to fight and come back stronger!”
