A man has died after he reportedly sustained a gunshot wound in Trowbridge.
Emergency services raced to reports of a deceased man at an address in Church Lane at around 1pm this afternoon (Wednesday).
Firearms officers accompanied local officers to the scene, alongside an ambulance officer.
The man was pronounced dead and his next of kin was informed, Wiltshire Police said.
It is understood the man sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head – however, this has not been formally confirmed.
The force said the sudden death is being treated as non-suspicious.
Detectives attended the incident alongside forensics earlier today, followed by a private ambulance.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly difficult time”, a police spokesperson said.
Adding: “We are asking that their privacy is respected as they come to terms with their loss.”
