A crash has blocked a road in Fairford as thousands flock to the Royal International Air Tattoo.

Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision in Horcott Road at around 9.30am this morning (Friday).

Further details are unclear, but the road is obstructed in the area of the turning for Totterdown Lane, according to a local resident.

It comes as RAF Fairford hosts the world-famous Royal International Air Tattoo, which sees sometimes 200,000 people visit the show.

In an earlier statement, Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “The Royal International Air Tattoo opens tomorrow (Friday) and we’ll be on-site keeping you safe throughout the weekend.

“From security checks when you arrive, to regular patrols by armed officers and our dog teams.

“Roads will be busy around the Fairford area, and so please plan ahead and allow plenty of time for your journey.

“Drones cannot be brought onto the site or used in the area – we’ll be working with our security partners to keep the skies free from drones for the safety of the pilots and visitors.”
