A teenage girl has been hospitalised after a serious incident in Chippenham.
Emergency services raced to reports of a young person suffering a mental health episode at a youth club at around 8pm on Wednesday evening (3 July).
Wiltshire Air Ambulance (WAA) landed in Oaklands as a critical care team provided urgent treatment to a teenage female for her injuries.
She was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for further care.
The incident is said to have taken place during a youth club held at the The RISE Trust Community Hub in The Oaks – next to St Paul’s Primary School.
At the height of the incident, two ambulances, several police vehicles and a fire engine were in attendance alongside the WAA helicopter.
A spokesperson for The RISE Trust said: “A young person did need emergency medical support and they were treated and are doing well.
“A big thank you to our emergency services and staff who supported this young person.”
According to the Trust, the incident did not involve a knife.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that the child is “getting support” in hospital, adding that it “would be inappropriate for us to comment further”.
