Police are asking the owner of a tiny ‘baggie’ found in a bush to come forward.

Officers were carrying out a weapons sweep in the Warminster area today (Tuesday).

They targeted The Avenue, Morrisons supermarket car park and Town Park as part of the national knife crime awareness campaign, Sceptre.

While searching for discarded weapons, items from a recent burglary were located.

Officers also found a ‘baggie’, a small clear bag usually used to portion out and deal cannabis or powdered drugs – and want the owner to hold their hands up.

“Anyone missing a small bag? Let us know…!”, a force spokesperson said.

In a statement about the operation as a whole, they added: “The Neighbourhood Harm and Reduction Unit, along with Community Based Volunteers supported the Warminster Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) today (14 May) with a safety sweep covering The Avenue, Morrisons Car Park and the Town Park – looking for any stashed weapons as part of the national knife crime awareness Sceptre campaign.

“Whilst out doing the sweep, items from a burglary that happened the night before in the area were found, so the NPT will be conducting further enquiries related to this matter.”
