A road through Lechlade has been closed after an elderly woman was hit by a car.

Emergency services were called to the A361 Burford Street at around 12pm today (Friday).

The injured woman is being treated by paramedics in the road, having sustained potentially serious injuries in the incident.

“Closures have been put into place on the stretch of road from Burford to Lechlade and Lechlade to Fairford while emergency services remain at the scene”, Gloucestershire Police said.

Adding: “Motorists are asked to plan their route in advance and avoid the area.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police is asked to submit information by completing the following online form quoting incident 150 of 5 April.
