Two people were hurt when a car overturned on a country road near Salisbury.

Emergency services were called a road traffic collision outside Avon Farm, in Stratford sub Castle, at around 2pm on Friday afternoon (12 January).

A dark red car, believed to be a Renault Clio, flipped onto its roof close to a bend.

Two people were injured, one seriously. Both are expected to make a full recovery.

A roads policing officer said the car was “clearly carrying too much speed into the bend”.

The road was closed between Camp Hill and Stratford Road for about two hours as police and ambulance attended the incident, and the vehicle was recovered.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle near Salisbury just after 1pm on Friday (12/01).

“A car has flipped over onto its roof near to a bend in Stratford sub Castle. Two people were taken to hospital, one with serious but not life-threatening injuries.”
