A man has been arrested for child abduction after Leah Mullins was found by police.

Cops swooped on a property ‘out of county’ to rescue the vulnerable 14-year-old on New Year’s Eve (31 December) – more than 48 hours after her disappearance.

Leah was last seen getting into to a dark-coloured estate car with a man in Sherston, near Malmesbury, on Friday evening (29 December).

Police arrested a man, aged in his 20s, on suspicion of child abduction. He remains in custody for questioning.

It follows a plea from desperate mum Sarah, who released an emotional appeal just hours before officers located her daughter.

She said: “Leah if you can see this, then please come home, or contact someone and let them know that you are safe and well.

“We miss you and love you so much. You are not in any trouble and we are extremely concerned about you. If you are not able to contact us, please go and seek help.”

In an update on social media following the news that Leah was found, she said that Leah “looks well from what the police can see” and thanked the Sherston community for their help in searching for her.

“She was miles out the area with a man who has now been arrested” she added.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are pleased to say that a teenager, who was reported missing from Sherston, near Malmesbury has been located.

“Leah Mullins, 14, was reported missing on Friday evening. This evening officers found Leah at a property out of the county and she is now safely in police care.

“A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction and is in police custody for questioning.”
