A stolen van was found abandoned outside Swindon town centre park last night.

At around 8.45pm yesterday, 19 February, Wiltshire Police received a report that a blue Ford Transit had been stolen from outside an address in the Freshbrook area.

A short time later, officers located the vehicle parked across a pedestrian path outside The Park on Faringdon Road in Swindon town centre.

Five police units were sighted in the area, thought to be searching for suspect.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We received a report at 8.45pm yesterday that a vehicle had been stolen from an address in Freshbrook by someone believed to be known to the owner.

“The vehicle – a Ford Transit – was later located near Faringdon Park.

“The vehicle was recovered and enquiries are ongoing.”
