Police officers failed to find the suspects who ran from a car which failed to stop for them in Swindon on Friday evening, despite the support of police dogs.

The short car chase came to an end in Taylor Crescent, a quiet residential street in Stratton, when a the driver of a black Ford Fiesta chose not to stop for officers at around 7.30pm.

Approximately eight police cars were seen racing down Kingsdown Road at around 7.20pm.

“An authorised, short pursuit took place involving a Ford Fiesta”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police told Wiltshire 999s today. “The occupants then left the vehicle: following an extensive search, involving the dog unit, we were unable to find them.”

Adding: “We have asked the registered keeper of the Fiesta to come in for interview.”
