All three emergency services were called to a serious incident within a third-floor flat in Swindon last night, in which one man died at the scene.

Police officers, paramedics – including critical care medics – and firefighters raced to the incident on Galsworthy Close, Liden, at around 10pm on Wednesday, 7 February.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed within the grounds of Dorcan Academy.

It’s understood that fire crews were called to the scene to help remove the casualty from the building – but he was pronounced deceased before a rescue attempt could be made.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed that a man, in his 40s, died at scene.

The death is not treating this as suspicious.
