The M4 is temporarily blocked as firefighters deal with a vehicle blaze.

A black Ford Ranger caught fire on the motorway between junctions 15 and 16 (Swindon) at around midday today (Friday).

National Highways, supported by Wiltshire Police, have closed the road westbound as the fire is extinguished.

A spokesperson said: “Following a vehicle fire, the M4 is currently held westbound J15 – J16 near Swindon to allow the fire service to extinguish the blaze safely.

“Traffic Officers are on scene, and recovery agents are en route. Please allow extra time for your journey as there are delays of 30 mins.”
