A teenage boy stabbed to death at a house party in Bath has been described as a ‘great lad with a great heart’ by his employer.

16-year-old Mikey Roynon was killed in an attack at an address in Eastfield Avenue, Weston, at around 11pm on Saturday night (10 June).

The youngster, from Bristol, was an up-and-coming rapper with the stage name YM.

Mikey worked as a loader for Siggz of the Dump, a licensed rubbish clearance and waste disposal firm – and was due to start there full-time from today (Monday).

Boss Craig Sawyer said: “He was a great lad with a great heart. He was an amazing lad and all my customers loved him.

“He used to ring me before school and after school to work, he was a hard worker. All my customers loved him and will miss his smile and politeness.”

“He was due to start full time from today, as he’s just done his GCSEs, which he was looking forward to.”

The fatal stabbing happened when dozens of people crashed a house party – with locals reporting that up to 200 people were in attendance at one point.

A 35-year-old woman who was also injured during the attack was later released from Royal United Hospital.

A total of eleven teens – including nine boys and two girls were arrested yesterday on suspicion of his murder and remain in police custody. They are all aged between 15 and 17.

And last night (Sunday) shocked family and friends of the victim, who was from Bristol, attended a special tribute where balloons were released into the air.

One family member said: “This world is so so cruel and this was never ever meant to happen. Rest easy my boy.”

Another said: “He was so loved my so many. Absolutely heartbreaking.”

Another tribute wrote: “My house won’t be the same without him, always cracking jokes making me laugh.”

One neightbour said yesterday: “They posted the 16th birthday party on social media, there were maybe 200 kids there.”

Detectives knock doors in Eastfield Avenue

Avon and Somerset Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the attack that took place at a suburban house on leafy Eastfield Avenue, Weston.

Chief Inspector Ronald Lungu added: “Understanding what happened last night and why is the utmost priority of officers working on this investigation, as they look to provide answers to the boy’s family.

“Detectives continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed what happened, as well as anyone who has relevant phone, dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact them.”
