Two men have been arrested after allegedly breaching a closure order in Trowbridge.

A house in Ferris Way, known for drug activity and anti-social behaviour, was closed by Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 2 February.

Nobody except the residents can enter the building for a period of three months. Anybody caught breaching the order will be committing a criminal offence and may be prosecuted.

It was secured following complaints from the local community relating to ongoing antisocial behaviour and disorder at the property.

A section 8 warrant was also executed on Friday 27 January, when a small amount of suspected Class A and B drugs were found. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.

Two days after the order was imposed by the court, police attended the address to find two males inside. they were subsequently arrested and charged.

Dean Cochrane, 41, of Trowbridge, and Dean Griffiths, 37, of Berryfield Park, Melksham, will appear in court charged with breaching a closure order at a later date.

PS Charly Chilton of the Trowbridge Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The antisocial behaviour taking place at this property has caused no end of distress for the local community and neighbours.

“We have been conducting patrols near the property and the disorderly behaviour has continued, leaving us with no choice but to seek a closure order for it.

“Hopefully this will provide some peace and respite for the community, and we have already charged two people with breaching the closure order.

“We won’t hesitate to continue enforcing the order should people continue to attend the property.”
