A man’s been airlifted to hospital after falling from a 20-metre-high aqueduct in Wiltshire.
Emergency services rushed to reports of a person in distress on Dundas Aqueduct, on the county border with Somerset, shortly before 2pm on Friday (27 January).
During the incident, the man fell from the structure and sustained serious injuries.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was tasked, with the crew airlifting the casualty to a major trauma centre for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
Avon and Somerset Police said they were called to “a concern for welfare incident”, adding that the person involved was “taken hospital via air ambulance”.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service deployed a crew from Bradford on Avon to the incident. However, the crew we not required to assist and were stood down at the scene.
