More than a dozen fines have been issued to motorists ignoring a road closed sign in Swindon.

Police officers from Royal Wootton Bassett stationed on Hook Street overnight issued 13 fines to drivers who ignored the signage on the Swindon side of the popular cut-through, which avoids junction 16.

The road is closed in the direction of Royal Wootton Bassett.

It remains open for motorists travelling towards Swindon.

Wiltshire Police are warning motorists not to ignore the road closure and seek an alternative route.
