A 66-year-old man is accused of collecting indecent pictures and videos of children.
John Fisher appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (25 August).
Crown prosecutor Asha Seenauth alleged the defendant, of Saxon Court, Old Town, was found in possession of 39 indecent images – collected between 11 April and 11 July 2021.
He’s accused of having 24 of the most abhorrent images in category A – which involve penetrative sexual activity.
He’s also said to have had nine category B (non-penetrative sexual activity) and six category C images (indecent images not falling within categories A or B).
Fisher did not give an indication of plea and magistrates declined jurisdiction, sending the case to Swindon Crown Court.
The defendant will next appear on 23 September for a plea and trial preparation hearing. He was released on unconditional bail.
