A woman has died following a serious medical incident in Chippenham.
The ambulance service was called to a property in Westerleigh Close, on Southmead housing estate, at around 6.30pm on Tuesday (7 June).
Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed on Westcroft Playing Fields – just 100 metres from the incident.
Despite the best efforts of local ambulance crews and air ambulance critical care medics, the woman – believed to be in her 80s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wiltshire 999s understands the woman sustained fatal injuries during a fall within her home.
Wiltshire Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspisious.
Local residents described seeing a large ambulance and police presense at the address until 9pm.
