Crime scene in Westbury alleyway after woman found in ‘distressed state’

A crime scene is in place in Westbury after a woman was found in an alleyway.

Wiltshire Police responded to a report from a member of the public relating to a woman in a ‘distressed state’ off Matravers Close.

Officers were sent to the scene at around midday, where they located the woman and an ambulance was requested.

She was taken to hospital to be assessed, but police say it’s not yet clear whether a crime was committed.

Forensics have been at the scene this afternoon, as detectives probe potential offences.

The alleyway was reopened at about 4.15pm.
