Wiltshire Police has launched an investigation into an alleged spiking by injection.

It’s after a 24-year-old woman was ‘found unconscious’ in Fleet Street, Swindon town centre, in the early hours of Saturday morning (29 January).

As first revealed by Wiltshire 999s, the victim claims she was given CPR by police officers before being rushed to hospital for further treatment.

She believes she sustained up to five needle wounds on her arms after clubbing in The Wyvern Tavern and Power Lounge on Friday night (28 January) and into the following morning.

The woman told of how she “can’t really remember much” of the night, but does recall being followed by a man and approaching police about his behaviour.

She added: “They went up to him to speak to him and then they took me to the back of their police car. I think they were just going to drop me off home.

“From there, I can’t remember much more. I know the police gave me chest compression outside as I stopped breathing.”

Wiltshire Police has now confirmed it is investigating the incident.

“We are conducting enquiries after a 24-year-old woman was located unconscious in Fleet Street, Swindon, in the early hours of Saturday morning”, a force spokesperson said in a statement.

They continued: “The woman was taken to hospital and has reported feeling unwell following a night out in the town centre.

“Enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and whether or not any crime has taken place are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is urged to call 101 and quote reference number 54220010080.”
