A woman called a magistrate a “f**king b**ch” after she was handed a restraining order.

Lucy Goodenough, 24, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court today (21 January) to be sentenced for sending abusive messages on social media in September 2021.

Prosecutor Pauline Lambert said the defendant, of Cleverton Court, Penhill, sent numerous vile messages to her the mother of her child’s father.

In the messages sent on Facebook, she threatened to stop the victim from seeing her granddaughter over concerns she had called social services.

Goodenough called her a “smack rat” and said “I’m going to get in trouble if I ever see you again”, which the victim took as a threat of violence.

“You’re lucky I might be going to jail, I’d smack your face in, you dirty crackhead whore”, one message read.

The court heard how her victim has terminal cancer and has a prognosis of 12-18 months. She believes Goodenough has been using her granddaughter as a weapon against her.

In a victim personal statement, she said she is always worried about what might happen next and finds herself looking over her shoulder when she is out and about.

“I just want her to leave me alone and stop the abuse and threats against me”, she penned.

Just days before this offence, Goodenough appeared in court where she was sentenced for assaulting emergency workers and a racially aggravated public order crime.

Chief magistrate Natalie O’Connell imposed an 18-month community order consisting of 100 hours of unpaid work and 30 rehabilitation activity days.

She also imposed an 18-month restraining order prohibiting the defendant from contacting her victim directly or indirectly or visiting her home address.

“Nah nah nah”, Goodenough exclaimed before leaving the courtroom shouting “f**king b**ch”.

She returned a short time later and apologised to Ms O’Connell.
