A teenage girl has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car in Salisbury.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Castle Street at around 7.45am today (12 January) following reports of the road traffic collision.

The road remains closed in both directions whilst 999 crews work at the incident.

It’s not yet clear whether the girl suffered serious or significant injuries that would warrant a lengthy collision investigation.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We were called to Castle Street at around 7.45am today (12/01) following a collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

“The patient, a teenage girl, has been taken to Salisbury District Hospital by ambulance.

“The road has been closed while emergency services are in attendance and we would advise people to find alternative routes.”
