A member of the public has discovered a dead body in Wiltshire field.
Yesterday afternoon, at around 2pm, police were called after the lifeless body of a man was found in a field off Cow Drove, in the Chilmark area.
Wiltshire Police say that their investigation is at an early stage, but the death is being treated as an unexplained at this time.
Formal identification has not yet been completed.
Central Hub Commander Supt. Chris Chammings said: “A thorough investigation has begun to understand the full circumstances surrounding this man’s death.
“People in the local community are likely to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.
“It is crucial that anyone with information comes forward and speaks to us.”
