Swindon residents are being urged to check their sheds and outbuildings as part of Wiltshire Police’s search for missing man James Phillips.

James, who is 19, was reported missing last Friday and police believe he left his Blunsdon home sometime between midnight on Thursday 14th October and 9am on Friday 15th October.

Since the initial report regarding his disappearance, officers and volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue (WilSAR) have been carrying out detailed and extensive searches in the Swindon area and surrounding countryside.

Despite this work, James has not been found and we are concerned about his welfare.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police has said: “We are asking residents to familiarise themselves with the photograph of James (the clothes in the picture are not the clothes he is believed to be wearing) and would urge them all to please check all sheds, garages and outbuildings.

“James is described as being of mixed heritage, approximately 5 ft 10 inches tall, of slim build, with short black hair. He wears glasses and it is believed he may be wearing a black suit, a white shirt and black leather shoes.

“Officers will continue to be assisted by volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue once again this weekend.

“James – if you are reading this appeal, we would urge you to please make contact with the police or with a friend or family member to let us know you are safe.”

Anyone who knows where James might be should contact Wiltshire Police immediately on 999 quoting log 74 of 15/10
