Great Western Air Ambulance landed in a Swindon field this afternoon amid reports of a stabbing.

Emergency services raced to a serious incident in The Venny, a green space between Cricklade Road and Pinehurst Road, at around 2pm today (10 October).

Several police vehicles and ambulances could be seen parked in May Close as they raced to the scene.

A large section of the field has been cordoned off as a crime scene, with officers guarding the area.

A number of local residents have reported that the incident was a stabbing, however this has not yet been confirmed.

‘There was a kid in the field seriously hurt. Police have taped the whole field off and are stopping people getting through, looks like a stabbing’, one man said.

Another claimed ‘it’s a stabbing police are turning people away who are not witnesses’.

Alongside the other emergency vehicles at the incident was a single fire engine.
