A woman has continued to harass a recruitment consultant after a ‘casual relationship’ came to an end – breaching her restraining order.

Amanda Jayne Hyatt, 38, previously pleaded guilty to harassing Anand Panchmatia over a seven-month period and was banned from contacting him or visiting the AB Recruitment offices.

Last September, Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard how the defendant had persistently made unwanted contact before being warned about her behaviour by the police.

She carried on making unwanted contact, and between 1 December 2020 and 1 July 2021, Hyatt sent hundreds of emails to Mr Panchmatia – most of which were “generally unpleasant”, prosecutor Kate Prince said.

Some of the emails included comments about being outside his house and made personal comments about his family. She told him he was a “you’re a weak pathetic a***hole”, “worthless piece of s**t” and a “weak little boy”.

In a victim impact statement, Mr Panchmatia said the harassment caused him to feel anxious.

At the time, her solicitor said the single mum-of-one had been in a “casual relationship” with the victim up until 2018. However, she became angry and upset when she discovered he was in a relationship for the duration.

On Saturday 26 March, Hyatt was arrested outside his victim’s home, charged with breaching her restraining order and was remanded in custody.

Appearing at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Monday (28 March), the defendant, of Cranesbill Road, Melksham, pleaded guilty to the new offence.

She was released on bail to return to the same court on 22 April for sentencing, following the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
