A police crime scene has been established in Warminster this morning, after a man fell to his death from the top of a derelict building on the high street.

Wiltshire Police have confirmed that they responded to an incident, at around 3.20am this morning, whereby members of the public were concerned for the safety of a man.

On arrival, police officers attempted to talk to the man at the top of the building, but sadly their attempts failed and he fell to the ground.

Paramedics were called, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A large section of the town centre is closed between Portway roundabout and traffic lights at Weymouth Street, causing some traffic delays in the area.

The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
