Firefighters cut male casualty free from Volkswagen in serious Swindon crash

A man has been cut free from a car following a crash in Swindon tonight.

All three emergency services were called where Devizes Road meets Newport Street in Old Town at around 9.45pm this evening, where two cars had collided.

The vehicles involved are as black Volkswagen and a silver Mercedes.

A male casualty, who was medically trapped in the car, was extracted by firefighters using heavy rescue equipment. His condition is not said to be life-threatening.
