UPDATE: The A303 has reopened in both directions following this incident.

Police investigation and recovery have completed #A303 #Wiltshire. Preparation taking place to re-opened. Will keep you updated on progress.

— Highways England (@HighwaysSWEST) July 4, 2017

A serious collision has closed a a major south Wiltshire road this afternoon.

The A303 between junction A36 at Wylye and junction A350 at Two Mile Down will be closed in both directions until at least 8pm for crash investigation work.

Details of the road traffic collision are currently unclear.

Highways England say a diversion route in place; westbound traffic should exit the A303 onto the A36 northbound to Crockerton and then take the A350 southbound to re-join the A303 at Chicklade. Eastbound traffic should use the above route in reverse.
