Wiltshire Air Ambulance will spend the night at a hospital out of the county after weather conditions meant it could not return to base.
Critical care paramedics attended a serious medical incident this afternoon, before flying to the Royal United Hospital in Bath where the casualty received urgent care.
Due to low-level clouds over the city, the helicopter could not be flown safely back to base – meaning it will be left at the hospital overnight.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Air Ambulance said it would be collected in the morning.
The charity’s medics continue to respond to life-threatening emergencies in rapid response cars.
