Cats in the Amesbury area are being attacked using shavers and sticky tape, police say.

A number of animals have been targeted in recent weeks. The incidents happened overnight and involve cat parents finding them with shaved fur or red and white tape wrapped around their necks.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “These acts are not only harmful to the animals but also distressing to their owners and we urge them to please stop.

“Anyone with any information that could lead to the offender being identified is asked to call us on 101 and quote crime reference number 54200086078.”
